Welcome To Sea Bright, New Jersey

Sea Bright, New Jersey (Monmouth County, New Jersey) was once a group of wooden shacks on the sand dunes of a barrier island in the 1840’s. It was called “Nauvoo” in the native American language in that area, which means “beautiful or pleasant place.”

Just 70 minutes travel time below New York City, and just below Sandy Hook’s National Park, Sea Bright is named after Sea Bright, England. With a year-round population of 1,818 (2000 Census) it’s a popular destination for all seasons of the year.

Great beaches and fishing for albacore, bluefish, stripers and weakfish wait for anglers in Sea Bright’s ocean waters. Sea Bright also has many private beach clubs and beautiful restaurants, and the nightlife and popular local bands make the evenings fun in Sea Bright.
